About Our Yarn
BC GARN
A FAMILY BUSINESS FOUNDED IN 1972 in Denmark, today they are known for their yarns of the highest quality. At B.C. Garn they cherish nature´s materials and most of their wool and cotton is organically grown. Their yarn and fibre combinations have been carefully selected and are processed with the greatest possible consideration for nature.
BC Garn is not widely know in Australia and I am proud to say that I carry the largest range of their yarns in this country.
We have the summer yarns Alba, a 4 ply organic cotton and Allino, an 8ply cotton/linen mix. I offer the full colour range in both of these yarns as well as great pattern support from Danish designers for BC Garn.
Sarah Tweed is another beautiful 8 ply yarn consisting of 60% silk and 40% wool. I have 23 of the 29 colours in the range as well as pattern support.
Just new into my store for winter is the Semilla range of 8 ply 100% organic wool. I carry 24 colours in this range with more to come. The wool is luxuriously soft and can be worn on the skin without fear of it feeling scratchy.
All the yarns come with very generous meterage and so are very good value for money.
KOIGU
For over 10 years Maie and her daughter Taiu Landra have been amazing knitters worldwide with the quality and colourways of their beautiful Merino yarns. Maie's Estonian heritage and her art training led her to develop a signature style of hand dying and knitting yarn. Working quietly on their Ontario, Canada farm Maie and Taiu have developed some of the most sought after yarns for the millions of knitters and crocheters worldwide caught up in the revival of this wonderful craft.
At the moment we have in stock some of the beautiful Koigu Painters Palette Premium Merino Wool and hope over the months to add to this range.

Located in one of the finest wool growing areas of the world is the House of Alpaca. In the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales on top of the Great Dividing Range and at an altitude of 980m above sea level.
They have been breeding alpacas since 1993 and currently have over 200 alpacas on farm. Through much research of Australian and overseas market places they have become a multi award winning stud farm.
Australian Alpaca is regarded as the best alpaca in the world. These 8ply yarns are luxurious in their softness.
For the 2012 winter season The House of Alpaca has released 10 new colours in their 8 ply range as well as a new collection in 4 ply. We carry all 21 colours in the 8 ply and the 5 new colours in the 4 ply. This yarn is both affordable and is extremely good quality.
TILLI TOMAS
AS WELL AS MAKING EXQUISITE YARNS Tilli Tomas uses business practises that aim to improve women's lives. Tilli Tomas is a hand painted yarn company which works with the finest quality natural fibres and they have set up safe houses in India and have trained impoverished women to work with them.
Their efforts have made a positive impact in the lives of these women and in doing so; have given us beautiful yarns to knit with!
The four yarns from Tilli Tomas that I have in stock are Artisan Sock yarn which is a 4 ply fingering yarn and is also great for shawls and luxuriously soft.
Beaded Lace and Symphony Lace are both lace weight yarns. Beaded Lace is 100% silk and Symphony Lace is kid mohair and silk.
Disco Lights is also 100% silk but a thicker spun silk leaning more towards an 8-10ply. Still incredibly soft and also very luxurious.
The Fibre Company
The Fibre Company was founded in 2004 by Iain Stanley and Daphne Marinpoulos as a spinning mill and processing center.
Focusing on interesting blends of natural fibers, the unique yarns are all carefully developed to achieve the perfect combination of softness and structure. The beautiful, saturated and sophisticated colors in the lines are all kettle dyed to create a subtle variation in tone and color.
In 2008, the Fibre Company partnered with Philadelphia-based Kelbourne Woolens and the two companies now work together to create and distribute the Fibre Company’s beautiful yarns + patterns.
We stock the worsted weight yarn Road to China and the beautiful fingering Canopy yarn.
KNIT COLLAGE
AMY SMALL IS THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR at Knit Collage. After studying textile and apparel design at Cornell University, she went on to design sweaters and accessories at Free People for 5 years. While there, her love of travel, yarn and knitwear developed. This soon led to her move from her hometown of Philadelphia to Hong Kong where she began Knit Collage. In the Knit Collage studio bits of ribbons, sequins, flower appliqués, and sparkly tinsel are hand spun into brightly coloured wool and mohair fibres to create their one-off yarns.
